Energy Sustainability
You require an energy report for all new residential and apartment buildings as well as any alterations and additions project where the surveyor has requested one be completed.
The required documents for an Energy Rating are as follows as per the NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) Technical Note Version June 2019:
Archi Sustainability currently offers a 48 Hour turnaround time on all residential projects. Commercial or apartment complex projects are dependent on various factors and cannot be certain on a time frame but rest assured that we would be working our hardest to get back to you as soon as we can.
Our Energy Rating Reports are to a high standard and outline the requirements for each dwelling located on project site, you can learn more and request an example of what your report might look like by clicking here. When you receive a fee proposal from Archi Sustainability, the fees detailed in the quote are exactly that. We are happy to take as many phone calls, video calls & emails as you need to get the result you are happy with. We will never charge an amendment fee unless certification has taken place or there is a significant change to the design.
Yes, current proposed in the 2022 National Construction Code draft Vol.2 it is proposed that all new dwellings must achieve a 7 Star Energy Rating and Class 2 buildings must achieve a 7 Star average while maintaining a minimum 6 star score. This is still yet to be finalised but more information can be found on the NCC Website.
In the rare case of not being able to achieve a 6 star NatHERS Energy Rating we will work with designers and builders in utilising products and materials to achieve the requirement in hope to not have to make any significant design changes. There are some very simple steps we share with designers that can improve star ratings quite easily and also some products that can be utilised effectively depending on the design.
If you have received an Energy Rating Report and you are finding it difficult to understand it or have queries but don’t feel comfortable talking with your current Energy Rating Assessor, we are more than happy at Archi Sustainability to review it and setup a short call to discuss it further
A sustainable design assessment is a council requirement in most councils which you can, learn more about here. The council will impose certain sustainability requirements on your development revolving around design aspects and features generally.
The required documents to begin an initial Sustainable Design Assessment Report are just your Town planning plans ideally with floor plans, elevations & a roof plan. This is enough information for us to begin our work and start working with the architect or draftsman on getting your submission into Council.
Archi Sustainability currently offers a 2-4 business day turnaround time on all small to medium size residential projects. Commercial or apartment complex projects are dependent on various factors and cannot be certain on a time frame but rest assured that we would be working our hardest to get back to you as soon as we can.
Our Sustainable Design Assessment Reports are very detailed and break down the requirements outlined in the BESS (Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard) and WSUD (Water Sensitive Urban Design) Plan. We work closely with the Architect or draftsman working on the project and try to make the process as simple as possible with a flat fee associated with the documents which covers all consultations and meetings required to get the planning permit for the project.
Currently solar panels & solar hot water systems do not affect the NatHERS Rating of a project but with the new Whole-of-house assessments coming in NCC 2022 we will be able to give you a whole of home rating & an estimate of your yearly energy costs ect.
We’re ready to partner with you and deliver sustainability reports for your next building project
